Who are we?

The current organizers are Leigh Anne Hahn () and Omar Shehata (). Leigh Anne works at Cornell University. Omar is a software engineer who works from home.

We get a ton of help from our friends who help us run the recurring meetups, including but not limited to: Billy Streleckis, Cat C., Tyr Wiesner-Hanks, Emily Babin.

What's it like at these events?

We show up at 7pm with signs & name tags so people can easily find us. It's usually anywhere between 10-20 people. There's always a mix of regulars & new folks.

There's no strict start & end, people come and go throughout, whether for a few minutes or a couple hours.

We're really trying to be a space for people who want to make ithaca their home, whether they're here for a few weeks or a lifetime.

(we do tend to meet at bars but we're trying to do more park hangouts & such and are hoping community members can help organize that!)

(but also the culture is shifting and it is pretty normal to grab a non alcoholic drink & socialize while supporting our local businesses)
